Dear Aunt Phyllis: As a child, and a teenager especially, I remember how excited I always was when you were coming to our house for a family event. I remember the strong positive light and unconditional love I felt every time you gave me a warm hug at a summer BBQ or a cold kiss on the cheek from your walk from the car at Xmas time. Even when we visited you at your apartment in New York City I was always looking forward to your care free and unconventional approach to entertaining us… great take-out dinners and interesting stories of your vacations to the islands, but you in turn would always listen to what was on my mind and paid attention to my interests as a child and as an adult as well. I loved that you were the cool member of the family and I will always cherish how you made me feel special. I remember when we left each other for the day I needed to know when I would see you again. I wonder that now. I will never forget you.

Dear “Aunt” Phyllis…I am so glad I had the chance to meet you and share some family gatherings with you. I always admired you and loved every moment shared. I hope you are at peace. You will be greatly missed.

Aunt Phyllis

Aunt Phyllis, Your smile lit up a room and your love of life and family was so beautiful to watch! We loved every moment we spent with you and Uncle Steve and enjoyed all the special family time telling stories, eating good food, and making wonderful memories that we will cherish forever. It was so difficult to watch you slow down but so amazing to witness your strength and perseverance. Our hearts are broken and we will miss you dearly but we are comforted that you are now at peace and out of pain. Please give my Dad a big hug.
Love, Jo-Ann and Rick Freund and family

Phyllis, you were the sister that I never had. The very day that we met, we all loved you so much. We shared many happy years together, you were always part of our family. We all were so happy to be together at dinners, holidays, and special occasions. I will never ever forget you and how you made my brother Steve so happy. He was so devoted to you and you to him and he adored you so much and will be lost now without you. Rest in peace Phyllis - you are in a better place now and free of sickness. Love, Mollie
