Obituary for Theresa Kozlowski
Theresa Kozlowski, age 97, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Golden Gate Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of Middle Village, Theresa was born to the late John and Louisa (Schneider) Kastner. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Kozlowski, her sister Barbara Lettieri and her brother John Kastner.
Theresa will be remembered in part for the many Afghans she crocheted for family and friends. Her home baked Snickerdoodles were a family favorite. She loved gardening, growing beautiful flowers and giant tomatoes.
Bingo was a favored activity as well. When the current St. Margaret elementary school was built in 1936, she was in the first graduating class, and was the last living graduate as well.
She is survived by her nephews Nicholas Lettieri (Renee), Thomas Kastner (Mary) and James Kastner (Paula), grandnephews Brian (Amanda), Nicholas (Rebecca) and David Lettieri, Michael Kastner, Benjamin Kastner (Kelsey) and grandniece Erin Kastner.
Visiting will be held on Tuesday, May 28 from 8:30 -10:15 AM at Michaels Funeral Home, 79-22 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:45 AM at St. Margaret R.C. Church, Middle Village, NY. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, also in Middle Village.
