Obituary for Ronald F. Pierno

He was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and worked in the financial industry. He is survived by his wife of 25 years and 2 nieces who he loved dearly, Dina & Teri.
Ron grew up in the 60's and & 70's - peace and love. He was a very liberal person who would root for the underdog. He had friends and acquaintances of many different nationalities. Everyone has a Ron story - he had a terrific sense of humor!

He was a lover of children and animals and his heart broke when he would hear a sad situation. He allowed me to adopt a dog that no one else would adopt. She had major skin issues, an eye issue and horrible ear infections (she could not hear). We had to sleep on the kitchen floor with her for weeks in the beginning and burn scented candles because her skin had such an odor. He insisted on taking her to a dermatologist and did the follow-up. He treated her skin several times a day - it was not easy - not many could do this. He also was consistent with her meds and eventually she could hear loud noises - the vets were amazed! The biggest sacrifice - she had separation anxiety. He would not leave her. He gave up 6 years of us going to dinner or taking vacations. She went with us everywhere.

He was a loving husband to me who made sure I was prepared for his death due to the difference in age. He wanted to be sure I was set in life and would never have to depend on anyone. He encouraged me to be successful in my career.

Ron did not like being sick and did not handle it well. He wanted the Lord to take him.
