Mercifully the Lord has brought Mary Fiori to rest. Mom had a very full life but the last 5 years have been void of quality of life. Since 2019, mom survived COVID and two bouts of pneumonia. She has been confined almost exclusively to bed except for 2-3 hours a day when she would be transferred from her bed to a wheelchair. Additionally, mom’s memory has been in significant decline. Mom will be laid to rest alongside Dad, in St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY, 11379. Both of their parents Rose and Vincent Piacente and Eleanor and Larry Fiori are buried in the same crypt area at St John’s. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Gregory. Loving mother of Vincent, Lawrence, Gregory Jr. and Eleanor Holt. Caring grandmother and great-grandmother. Our plan is to have a brief viewing on the morning of Friday, Oct 7 between 9 and 10:30 am at Michaels Funeral Home, Inc, 79-22 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379 (718) 894-5500, immediately followed by a Mass at 10:45 am at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, 6605 79th Place, Queens, NY 11379, then entombment at St John Cemetery following the Mass. Given the proximity of the Cemetery to family and friends and the narrow timing of the service, we recognize that attendance may not be possible. Please remember Mom in your thoughts and prayers.
