Obituary for Frederick "Mickey" Seebeck

Mickey Seebeck was born in Hell's Kitchen on January 6, 1932. He was married to Judith in 1964 and they have three children, Christine, Frederick and Michael. Mickey served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division and was the 6th Army and 3rd Army Boxing Champion. He also boxed professionally from 1952 to 1956.
Mickey graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School in 1950 and attended Brooklyn Poly Tech University. Mickey worked for Charles Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company for 13 years. He joined the Operating Engineers in 1963 and joined the National association of Power Engineers in 1970. Mickey was sponsored by Mr. James Murdock of Rudin Management. He acted as Chief Engineer and/or construction superintendent at 1700 Broadway, 2 Penn Plaza, Americas Tower, Chrysler, City Spire, World Trade Center, 7 World Trade Center, 387 Park Ave. south and 205-215 Lexington Ave. during the height of major office construction in New York City. Mickey also held the position of Operations Manager for Newmark Realty.
Mickey enjoyed raising, handling and showing Bull Terriers. In fact, he had a Westminster Winner. The champion was named Uglee Pied Piper. Mickey also is a master craftsman in woodworking, and enjoys this hobby in the little spare time he gets from working on NAPE Chapter #1 activities and events.
Mickey served on Local 94 of the International Union of Operating Engineers Executive Board and served as Treasurer, Chairman of Employment, Advisory Board, Entertainment, Legislative, Finance, Metropolitan, Committees. Mickey was awarded The Marchese Award in 1990. Mickey retired from the industry in 1996, but very active in The National Association of Power Engineers, Inc. and supports New York Chapter #1 with much enthusiasm and convictions.
