Obituary for Arthur D. Beaumont

Arthur (Artie) Beaumont, 80, of Middle Village, NY passed away on February 4th in his home surrounded by his family.
Born May 14, 1942, he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen Beaumont; his devoted daughter Sue Ellen Beaumont of Middle Village and proud son Doug Beaumont (Jennifer) of Clinton, PA; his amazing grandchildren, Giovanna (Gigi), Joseph (JoJo), Madelynn (Maddie) and Caroline (Savannah); his sweet sister Theresa Martens and loving brother Michael Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Artie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Caroline; his brothers Edmond and Joseph and his sister Maryann (Caccavale).
Artie served in the United States Army for 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked for New York Telephone/Nynex/Verizon as an auto mechanic for 37 years and retired in 2004 to help take care of his first grandchild, Giovanna Lily. Artie was truly devoted to his wife Mary and made sure to provide her with a wonderful life…including the Cadillac that she always wanted! He was always working on cars or things around the house and enjoyed traveling with his lovely bride.
Artie instilled his love for sports in his children and grandchildren and heartily rooted for the Mets, Jets and whomever was playing against the Giants! He loved comedy movies, surf & turf and CORNBREAD! He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be loved and missed by many.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Michael’s Funeral Home, 79-22 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village NY 11379 on Wednesday, February 8th from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. His mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 10:45 am at St. Margaret’s RC Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arthur’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
