Anna (Anni) Treitmeier was born on April 1, 1937 in Bavaria, Germany to Max and Anna Obermeier. She was raised until the age of 11 by her beloved maternal grandparents and aunts in Contwig, Germany, and after the war she was reunited with her parents in the United States. She grew up with her sister Martha, in Ridgewood, NY and in 1957 married Joseph (Joe) Treitmeier. Anni and Joe, who were married for 65 years, raised their two daughters Monica (Treitmeier-McCarthy, Matthew) and Christa (Treitmeier-Meditz, Robert) in Middle Village. Anni’s greatest joy was her family, especially her four grandchildren Anneliese, Gabriel, Max and Klara. Anni lived with dementia for the last 10 years of her life, but this diagnosis did nothing to diminish her smile or her kind and loving soul. She will be greatly missed by her family and all of those who knew her and were touched by her kind and gentle ways.
